Thank you for your tender ways and your gentle, guiding touch
For all living things blossom with love.

Thank you for accepting me just the way I am and for seeing
That there is beauty in imperfection.

Thank you for seeing what I can do, and not what I cannot
For though it may not be much, it is me.

Thank you for helping to make sense of my confused world
And for making it a happy place where I am warm and loved.

Thank you for trying to comprehend my ways
For my kind, the world has left largely misunderstood.

Thank you for laughter and tears, and smiles and hugs.
And for holding my hand when I need you.

Thank you for rejoicing at my accomplishments, though they be small
For as it is said, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single footstep.

Thank you for accepting today and for daring to dream of a better tomorrow
For although in my life I may never set the world on fire,
I will have left my spark, kindled and kept aglow by those who care.
